29-5-2008 Thursday

London Time: 5.05pm

Ah its Thursday already. Past 2 days have been rubbish cause I was feeling so sick from the rides. Man. Bleh.. At least now my head's all cleared up.

So I went to Alton Towers on Tuesday. Cycled to Rolls Royce in the morning to meet the rest of the people going that day. When I got there, the rest had already left for the amusement park first. So only Toby, Sara and Robert was left there, waiting for me.

So we got on the car and it took around a half hour to get to Alton Towers. The place is HUGE. Where we got off at the car park, we had to take a monorail tram to the actual amusement park itself. That was how big it was.

The Massive Carpark. And there's more than one.

At the entrance to the Amusement Park. Loads of people.

Tickets cost me 17.50 pounds. It was a 2 for 1 price. If not I had to pay 35 pounds. Crazy expensive eh.

And thats when you just step past the entrance. This is only one small part of the park.

These are the blokes I came with. Cheers

We walked on right to the other side of the park hoping that it'll be less crowded over there. It was a really long walk. Probably 20 minutes? And the park was basically set into different themes for different areas.

Pirate Theme. Arrgghh!!! (Captain Jack Sparrow!)

They've got a nice scenery while your queueing for the ride. Bloody waterfalls and stuff.

Then we took a cable car to the other part of the park. That is how BIG the area is.
These were taken inside the cable car.

Ahh.. My personal Favourite. The most thrilling ride.
OBLIVION. Its basically a 90 degree drop into the ground.

This was viewed while queuing for the OBLIVION.

Inside the queue.

And this is where the ride does its 90 degree drop into the ground.

Kinda forgot what the name of this ride is. But its the same as the one in Escape Theme Park in Singapore. Not really exciting at all.

This is my second best ride. RITA. You just accelerate really fast at the start. REALLY FAST. And you get the same feeling as if your taking a ride that's falling when this one is just going straight ahead. It is that fast.

Corkscrew! A pretty slow ride compared to RITA.

And this is just outside the RITA ride. You can see the cable car overhead.

Spinball Ride. Didn't take this one cause it'll give me a headache.

So while the rest were queuing for this ride, I walked around and explored more.

More wide open fields. Lovely.

After that, we got back to the Nemesis and sat that 3 times in a row. Cause there was no queue since it was closing soon. That was a really really really bad idea. Made me sick after that. Bleh.

The car ride back was torture. Head was spinning like mad. And to be honest. Sarah's not a really good driver. Really jerky with a stick shift car.

We drove back to the Standing Order in Derby City Center to have dinner. Its like a pub/restaurant place. Wasn't too crowded. And I ordered a burger with chips for 4.50 pounds. Expensive though, but i was really hungry at that time.

When we finished it was around 9.30pm and when I got back to Rolls Royce it was close to 10. Cycled back and slept at around 11pm.

Thankfully I'm feeling better 2 days later. haha.

Toby took 2 videos on the rides. Will post them out once I get them.
